Euro-Med Award for dialogue: Rima Maroun
is the winner of 2008 Edition
The Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean
Foundation for Dialogue between Cultures (ALF) and the Fondazione
Mediterraneo, have published the result of the third edition of the
Euro-Mediterranean Award for Dialogue Between Cultures: winner of
the competition is the Lebanese photographer and artist Rima Maroun.
The award, bestowed by the 37 ALF National Networks, recognises the
achievements of individuals and organizations that have been at the
forefront of promoting Dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
The theme chosen by the Presidency of the Award for the third edition
was “Dialogue Through Arts”. The particular field of art
chosen was visual arts, including drawing, painting, photography,
and sculpture, because these disciplines “allow easy transfer
of information and proper evaluation through IT technology, and stimulate
our perception by shaping images”.
