Foreigner faces: an exhibit on immigration in photography and photojournalism. Turin, Museum of Natural Science, until 18 May 2010
"Foreigner faces. 30 years of photography and journalism on immigration in Italy ": not just an exhibition but a popular photo-cultural project that seeks to answer some crucial questions on migration. How much exposure have experienced the issues related to immigration? What was the orientation of the different newspapers on these themes? What was shown and in what ways?
"Foreigner faces" is the title of the cultural project originated as a result of research carried out by FIERI-International and European Research Forum on Migration – on immigration in Italy and how it has been addressed by photojournalism. The study comes a photo-exhibition, which will be open until May 18 at the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences of Turin. The exhibition, curated by Luigi Gariglio, Andrea Pogliano, Riccardo Zanini and organized in collaboration with Museo Regionale di Scienze Natuarali in Turin, is divided into an introductory part on the phenomenon of immigration, and an itinerary through 8 thematic islands, showing how photojournalism communicated through texts and images foreign immigration between 1980 and 2007. Exhibition’s setting and communication are curated by E20PROGETTI.
