The Observatory of Territories: A workshop on territory’s photography with Jean-Michel Landecy. Milan, 25-29 May 2011
To represent the actual size of inhabited and enlarged territories, maps are not exhaustive: they recognize the urban condition only in the presence of continuous construction. In the space of transforming territories, photography becomes an analysis tool, that fits within the space of architecture and urban landscape with clarity and immediacy, integrating the concepts of use and perception. Describing, analyzing and investigating are the three necessary functions for the renewal of our vision of the contemporary territory, the means of each analytical framework, in order to analyze and guide its development. Within the programme of the Master in Landscape Architecture, ACMA Italian Centre for Architecture is organizing on 25-29 May 2011, the photography workshop "The Observatory of Territories" with Architect Jean-Michel Landecy: a series of theoretical contributions per, field work, a debate and presentation of proposals.
The workshop is designed as a crash course, addressed to graduates, students and graduates of technical and scientific disciplines related to land management and in the disciplines of visual arts. An average photographic knowledge is required.
