Open Call "Poveri voi": a cultural project, and three weeks in Africa
Selections are open for the first participant in the project "Poveri voi" (“Dear you”), consisting of a life experience in Africa for three weeks. The experience is not intended to be a sort of "alternative holiday", but a temporary placement within the society of a small African village. The selected participant will live with the hosting family and follow the rhythm of their life and work for a minimum of 21 and a maximum of 90 days. The departure is scheduled from April 2011, the destination is the village of Doissa in the hill region of Savalou, Benin, 250 km. from the country's main city, Cotonou. The minimum stay is 3 weeks. Selected participants will be offered some training sessions. Costs: airline ticket and visa to be purchased by the participants; accommodation in Doissa: 150 euro for three weeks, to be paid directly to the hosting family; training in Italy: 100 euro to be paid in Italy to the association promoting the project.
Requirements: legal age, good health, basic knowledge of French, willingness to learn the local language and to help in daily works in the village (farm work, take care of children, school tutoring, craft activities).
