In Gorizia – Italy
– the new section of Accumulazioni, featuring Jan Fabre,
Michelangelo Pistoletto, and Franz West. More, a workshop by Zerynthia
on European differences
On October 9th at 12 am, Zerynthia –
Association for Contemporary Art - will open the new section of the
project Accumulazioni with installations by Jan Fabre, Michelangelo
Pistoletto, and Franz West in collaboration with Heimo Zobernig and
Zlatan Vukosavljevic. Accumulazioni (Accumulations)
is once again the leitmotif of a unique exhibition series that links
works of contemporary art to a well-defined socio-architectonic context
(almost foreshadowing an artistic language different from the usual
museum expository standards). Michelangelo Pistoletto's installation
Skies 2005 creates a dialogue both with the palace's history
and with the city of Gorizia. Taking inspiration from the position
of the Friulian city's border and of its multiethnic and multi-lingual
heritage, Pistoletto has created on a great wooden ceiling a mirrored
image of the geography of central Eastern Europe. It is a silent map
that forcefully underlines the fascinating mix of art and politics
that the artist has pursued for a long time with the project "Love
Difference".
At Palazzo Lantieri in Gorizia, 6-9 October 2005, Editing, a workshop
organised by Zerynthia, with partners from 13 Countries from Eastern
Europe and the Balkans.
Aim of the workshop, curated by Lorenzo Benedetti, Cecilia Casorati
and Giovanni Iovane, is to celebrate cultural differences and to acknowledge
that the greatest richness of the European continent is its multiplicity
of vision.
In the framework of Editing, a broadcasting of RAM, Sound
Editing, will present the artistic experiences from Central and
Eastern Europe.
