to be presented on Friday the 24th of June in Mechelen, Belgium
Arte Continua and Love Difference keep
on working on the project “Art x Wine = Water”, curated
by Vicente Todolì and Alberto Colonna. Aim of the project is
building systems to provide safe drinking water in Brazil, Palestine,
Israel, India, Senegal and Indonesia.
Presentations of the project will resume at Mechelen Cultuurcentrum
– Belgium – on the 24th of June 2005, with a fund raising
dinner: during the event, it will be possible to buy cases, each one
containing six wines from the province of Siena, chosen by chef Antonello
Colonna, with labels especially created and signed by six artists,
a portfolio of six prints (cm 50 x 35) signed by the artists, description
of the wines by sommelier Filippo Bartolotta; special featuring for
the presentation in Mechelen, 6 posters (66 x 88 cm.) signed by the
artists. Artists, invited by Vicente Todolí, director of Tate
Modern London, are: Lothar Baumgarten, Richard Hamilton, Roni Horn,
Cildo Meireles, Michelangelo Pistoletto Brunello, Gilberto Zorio.
Michelangelo Pistoletto designed the label “Love Difference”
for the wine Brunello of Il Poggione.
The project has been presented in Siena and London, and thus far it
raised 75,000 euros, which have been sent to Brazil, for the development
of water systems.
For the benefit project in Flanders there is a cooperation with Associazione
Arte Continua and the office of the Presidence of Tuscan district
to support five Israelian and five Palestinian villages Akko, Haifa
and the Dead Sea. Purpose is to create an alternative system to make
water drinkable. It also represents a concrete act of solidarity and
a message of peace for two peoples that are often in conflict, the
Palestinians and Israelis.
Promoters and collaborators in the project participated free of charge.
The fund raising sale of the complete sets of case – portfolio
– posters will be presented in New York and China in 2006.
Referent for the sale in Belgium: Vincent Morrens vincent.morrens@pandora.be
