Michelangelo Pistoletto and Cittadellarte at Scuderie Aldobrandini in Frascati for “Arte in Giusta Misura”
The cycle DIFFUSAMENTEMUSEO has organised in the past five years conventions, meetings, exhibitions and workshops in the territory of Rome and Castelli Romani. Within this program, the City of Frascati and Novaidea Association will open on Saturday 10 December 2005 at 6 p.m. a new exhibition in the Scuderie Aldobrandini “Arte in giusta misura” ("Art in Just Measure"). The exhibition, open until 8 January 2006, presents the works by Alberto Garutti, Francesco Pernice e Il Campo dell’Arte, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Cittadellarte, Stalker. The exhibition aims to represent a conjunction between the social system the production system, and to create interaction, participation and projects linked to the values of ecological sustainability, setting the at the centre the individual, the community, the territory, to draw common projects. Michelangelo Pistoletto and Cittadellarte present the "Mediterranean Table - Love Difference", a table shaped as the Mediterranean Sea: a place where water unifies cultures, countries, languages, political visions, religions. The idea of the Mediterranean is combined to that one of table and both stand as a meeting place, a necessary metaphor of tolerance and increasing unity, members of the building of one Europe of Peoples. The table on display is part of a collection of six tables shaped as six different seas, which become, according to the historian Fernand Braudel, "solid seas". Therefore dining tables, places of exchange and relation. The Mediterranean area is distinguished by the mirror’s surface, centre of multiethnic tensions, where cultures meet are symbolically reflected.
