Arte all’Arte 10: the work by Alberto Garutti, realised for the church of Buonconvento, to be presented on Friday the 2nd of December
On Friday, the 2nd of December, at Palace Grisaldi del Taja in Buonconvento (Tuscany), the work that Alberto Garutti realised for the church of the Ss. Peter and Paul will be presented to the public. The event is part of the tenth edition of Arte all’Arte, the project on art, architecture and landscape by Associazione Arte Continua (see LDN#24).
The work is based over Gabutti’s comprehensive interpretation of the church as a place for worship, but also as a place steeped in tradition and culture, and its role inside the city. The artist has realised onto the wall of the church’s nave a work constituted by many lamps, which can be switched on by anyone by calling 0039 0577 806793 (excluding Italy, see Italian version). According to the project, part of the cost of every call will be spent for the construction of a cleaning water system in Sri Lanka.
Angelo Cappuccia – Culture Councillor in Buonconvento, Mario Cristiani – President of Associazione Arte Continua, Don Claudio – parish priest at SS. Peter and Paul in Buonconvento, Alberto Garutti – artist, Vareno Cucini – President of Comitato Terre di Siena Tamilnadu-Sri Lanka will take part in the presentation.
