Luminar IV: on-line magazines. The fourth seminar on Humanism and the Internet at Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Venice, 2nd-3rd February 2006
Fondazione Querini Stampalia will host in Venice on February 2-3 the fourth edition of the seminar on Humanism and the Internet titled “Luminar”.
Previous editions were dedicated to the potentiality of the web in the field of the humanistic research (Luminar 2002), the technical-legal aspects of the culture on the web (2003), to “web-museums” (2004) and to the documentary sources on-line (2005). 2006 edition of the seminar will be dedicated to the experiences and the perspectives of on-line magazines. Various Italian and foreign experiences, coming from the world of universities, independent research, or the market, will be put into comparison, facing crucial topics such as the criteria of definition and classification of the e-journal; modality of writing and scientific control in relation with the elasticity offered from the new technologies; tipologies of magazines available in net for the humanistic studies, in comparison with the consolidated experiences in scientific studies; new horizons of methods and aims of magazines in the web.
