Art x Wine = Water: news from Arte Continua on the project realised together with Love Difference and Cittadellarte
. Mario Cristiani of Arte Continua, responsible for the project “Art x Wine = Water”, sent a letter to Michelangelo Pistoletto describing the project's last developments (see LDN # 19). Cristiani wrote: "... As you know, we have entrusted to public agencies in order to control the effectiveness of the attribution of the funds and therefore, regarding our last communication, I am glad to announce that funds collected have reached the sum of 128.000,00 Euro. € 50.000,00 have been sent in Brazil, in favour of an association of farmers in Campo Alegre de Lourdes, Bahia; in collaboration with the Region of Tuscany, 135 water tanks have been already realized (...); others € 15.000,00 of the total amount of € 55.000,00 have been already distributed for activities planned in the States of Bahia and Alagoas, through a project by LaGuardia Foundation, an organization selected by the Region of Tuscany. Recently € 5.000,00 have been sent, through a campaign promoted by the Province of Siena, to the Region of Ziguinchor for the realization of a purifier-systems for water.
Thanks to “Art x Wine = Water” we have been able to donate € 5.000,00 to Tamilnadu for the populations hit by the Tsunami in India, through the program of the Committee Terre di Siena - Tamilnadu - Sri Lanka. Finally, as I have already told you, the evening organized by Arte all’Arte and Love Difference, introducing the project at the Cultural Center of Mechelen raised € 30.000,00 which in the next few days will be assigned to the program Med Cooperation, for which the Region of Tuscany Region has agreed with six city, three Palestinian and three Israelis. The collection will continue... ".
