Residences for artists in Jordan, Spain, and South-East Europe. Deadlines for applications: April 30 and May 1, 2006
To be able to create, for many artists, and in particular for those of the South, is more than a challenge. To help some artists to profit from a space-time of creation, free from material and financial constraints, Babelmed located two residences of artists: one in Spain, the other in Jordan (candidatures to be deposited before April 30, 2006).
Intended for artists working in the visual arts (painting, engraving, sculpture, installation, video arts), Darat Al Funun Art Center (jordan) proposes a residence of one month in June or July 2007. A privileged framework and a good opportunity for artists under the age of 35 from any country of the world. Center Art I Natura (Spain) offers a two months residence, October and November 2006, to writers (poetry, novel, drama, test, translation) or visual artists. The residence is intended for artists residents in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libia or Egypt, which want to create within a privileged framework.
The Backyard Residencies aim at re-connecting artists and local art scenes in South East Europe countries in order to activate interest for artistic research. Twelve selected artists will be offered six-week to eight-week residencies at the three prestigious independent art institutions in Iasi (Romania), Istanbul (Turkey) and Novi Sad / Belgrade (Serbia and Montenegro) from June 2006 to June 2007. Deadline for applications on the 1st of May 2006.
