13th Mediterranean Ethnological Summer Symposium - Ramses² Summer School in Slovenia. Deadline for application: 24 July
Piran, Slovenia, will host the 13th Mediterranean Ethnological Summer Symposium - Ramses² Summer School on 23-30 September 2006.
The proposed summer school relies on the already established summer school in Piran (MESS) while meeting the scientific and integration requirements of Ramses2 network.
MESS (Mediterranean Ethnological Summer School/Symposium) was established 13 years ago with an object to provide a place of encounter for scholars and students of anthropology as well as neighbouring disciplines. The summer school is designed in a form of seven working days and an excursion. Every morning a topic is introduced by two invited lecturers who specialize in the field of Southeast Europe. The afternoon workshops are dedicated to active student participation. Students have the opportunity to discuss the introduced topics and their own current research in the stimulating atmosphere. The joint Mess/Ramses2 Summer School organized by University of Ljubljana is aimed particularly at Ph.D. students and young researchers (postdocs) who dedicate their study and research to Southeast Europe. Students from Ramses2 network are welcome to send a CV with a short description of their research by July 24, 2006. Twelve students shall be informed of their participation no later than end of July 2006.
