“Of other spaces...”: call for proposals for UrbanFestival (Zagreb, June 2007). Deadline on November 13, 2006
Since 2001, UrbanFestival in Zagreb deals with a concept of public, especially that of public space, through its thematic focuses, programme selection, but also through its specific, often experimental, organizational schemes.
“Heterotopias are real places – places that do exist and that are formed in the very founding of society”, said Michel Foucault. 2007 edition of UrbanFestival will start from Foucault’s essay to investigate the possibility to find differences and utopia in the existing spaces; spaces of heterotopias as a space where the resistance exists; spaces that exist in correlation with the multiplicity of spaces we inhabit.
UrbanFestival invites the artist on the «governmentalistic» research of the city, that is, discovering internal borders, antagonisms and frictions, in disclosure of the invisible mechanisms of force.
Proposals must be submitted by the 13th of November 2006.
