Cultural Policymaking in Post-Communist Countries: a summer course in Budapest. Deadline for applications: February 14th 2007
From 16 to 27 July 2007, Budapest's Central European University is holding an intensive summer course entitled ‘Cultural Policymaking in Post-Communist Countries'. The CEU Summer University (SUN) programme hosts high-level, research-oriented, interdisciplinary and innovative academic courses as well as workshops on policy issues for professional development in the social sciences and the humanities. The cultural policy course will cover the key concepts, fields, strategies and instruments of cultural policy as developed, implemented and evaluated by public authorities at various levels (municipalities, EU, UNESCO, etc.). Emphasis will be placed on the modernisation of cultural policies in the countries of post-communist transition. The summer course is intended to stimulate the development of expertise in policymaking by educating future academic lecturers and trainers as well as policymakers.
