The Maghreb of books. Culture from North
Africa in Paris, February 10th-11th 2007
The City Hall of the 13th Arrondissement
(Place d’Italie) in Paris will host the 13th edition of “Le
Maghreb des livres” on February 10-11 2007. Incontrovertible
meeting of French and Maghrebine cultures, it represents one of the
key cultural events, emphasizing the presence of Maghrebines in France.
More than 10.000 publications about Maghreb will be presented, from
literature to history, sociology, politics, fine arts, cooking, etc.
More than 120 authors, writers, philosophers and artists from Maghreb
will be in Paris to present and sign their books. Among them, Yasmina
Khadra, Jean Daniel, Gad el Maleh, Faïza Guène, Guy Bedos,
Maïssa Bey, Serge Moati.
In 2007 Algers is the Cultural Capital of the Arab World, and Algeria
will be special guest of honour at “Le Maghreb des livres”,
with 20 invited authors and 20 publishers.
