Progetto Emergenze: exhibitions, conferences,
artistic projects on humanitarian and social emergencies. Milan, 29
March – 27 May 2007AEmergenze (Emergencies) is a project
developed by Bartolomeo Pietromarchi for Adriano Olivetti Foundation.
It will take place in Milan between the 29th of March until the 27th
of May, with a series of event involving many different institutions:
Hangar Bicocca (contemporary art center), The Family (film production),
Il Sole 24 Ore (authoritative Italian daily newspaper) and Reset (NGO).
Hangar Bicocca will host Not Afraid of the Dark, an exhibition
of the works by Jenny Holzer, Kutlug Ataman, William Kentridge, Fabio
Mauri and Santiago Sierra.
Holzer, Kentridge and Serra, together with Carlos Garaicoa, will also
operate directly in the urban environment with a series of unpublished
works. The program will also include a cycle of meetings on the “Emergency
culture” (3-5 April, in the head quarters of Il Sole 24 Ore);
the issue # 100 of the magazine Reset, entirely dedicated
to the event, with papers by philosophers, writers, city-planners,
and details on the artistic projects.
