The Farkadona project by PPC_T in collaboration with Love Difference invited at the first Biennale of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki. From May 21 to September 30, 2007
The project “Free culture and free knowledge in Farkadona” by PPC_T in collaboration with Love Difference, GAMB+I, Gudran Foundation, watercollection.net, The Argonauts, Hellug, Larissa Contemporary Art Center will take part from 21 May to 30 September 2007 at the 1 st Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art, titled “Heterotopias”.
Farkadona is a refugees camp near Larissa (Greece), where a community of Greek-Pontians repatriated from the former Soviet Union live. During the past years PPC_T (a Greek group of architects, teachers, artists, media experts) started a participatory process of exploring ways for the rehabilitation and the incorporation of the community at the local society, economy and cultural life. In June 2006 the workshop on participatory devices “Emergency case situations: Farkadona case” was organized, with the participation of PPC_T, Love Difference, Brazilian free-software activists GAMB+I, the Gudran group from Egypt, the watercollection.net project (www.watercollection.net) and the Larissa Contemporary Art Center.
