Cittadellarte hosts the Cinema of Differences: opening with “Silence… on tourne” by Y. Chahine on the 23rd of June
From June 23 to October 27, 2005 Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto (Biella, Italy) will host the cinematographic review “The Cinema of Differences”, offering a reflection on the origins of social, ideological, religious, cultural differences among peoples and civilizations. Difference will be the focus of the films that will be projected, but it will also represent a starting point for deeper examinations during the 2005 edition of Art at the Centre - of a responsible social transformation, and for the Festival of Differences, scheduled in September 23-25 at Cittadellarte.
The review will open on Thursday the 23rd of June, with “Silence… on tourne” by Youssef Chahine (Tunisia); on the same day the film critic and University Professor at Tunis, Tahar Chikhaoui, will give a conference at Cittadellarte. The program, counting 17 projections, will include “Un filme falado” by Manoel de Oliveira (July 14), “Where the green ants dream” by Werner Herzog (August 4), “The Searchers” by John Ford (October 20), and a meeting with the Italian director Pappi Corsicato (September 22).
Weekly projections (on Thursday) are entrance free.
