The Advanced Course in Visual Arts of the Antonio Ratti Foundation (Como, Italy) is an intensive course for young artists from all over the world. It started in 1988 under the patronage of the Como Council, and it is structured like a summer seminar. It is a laboratory for artistic and theoretical experimentation. The Course runs for three weeks, and includes conferences and seminars with the participation of artists, critics and representatives of various disciplines, theory classes by internal curators, daily workshops at the presence of the Visiting Professor and two final exhibitions. Visting Professor for 2005 will be Alfredo Jaar, artist, architect, and film-maker.
Artists over 18 years old can apply to the Advanced Course in Visual Arts. Previous academy qualifications are not essential. On-line preliminary application. The application form must be accompanied by a portfolio of previous artworks, preferably slides, laser copies, VHS tapes, DVD and CDs, and send by mail to the Secretariat of Fondazione Antonio Ratti by the 15th of April 2005.
