Sociology of Migrations: a summer
school at Genoa University
The Summer School of Sociology of Migrations
is intended for young researchers, phd students, graduates with specific
interest in the issue. It presumes a previous education in sociological
disciplines.
It aims at tutoring researchers and qualified operators in analysis
of migration phenomena. The School is held by the Department of Anthropological
Sciences of the University of Genova (Italy), for the scientific issues,
and by Centro Studi Medi’ – Migration in the Mediterranean
– for the administration and organisation of the School.
Teachers hold university positions and a long experience in international
migrations studies. They come from the University of Genova and from
other universities, which have specialised in migrations studies.
Scientific Director of the School is Professor Maurizio Ambrosini,
associated professor of Sociology at the University of Genova, teaching
Sociology of Migrations.
The Summer School course will be residential, running for one week.
There is the possibility for 20 people to get accommodation within
the school; other 10 people can attend the course with no accommodation.
Students will be given a participation certificate at the end of the
course.
