![]() The University of the Middle East Project is an independent non-profit and non-governmental organization whose objective is to provide opportunities for higher education for all the people and communities of the Middle East and North Africa. UME's ultimate goal is to create a system of interconnected academic centres throughout that region. Since its founding in 1997, UME has been laying the foundation of its vision through advanced academic institutes held in the United States, Spain and Morocco. The University of the Middle East Project Teacher Education Institute is a four-week academic program designed for high school teachers from throughout the Middle East and North Africa. This program will take place in Boston, United States, from July 5 to August 2, 2005. Applicants must be proficient in written and spoken English; be citizen and resident of a Middle Eastern or North African community; be certified secondary school teachers with at least two years of teaching experience.
